Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 July 2026

HarbourDesk ("we", "us") is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME, e.g. HarbourDesk Ltd], registered in England and Wales [COMPANY NUMBER, if incorporated], with a registered address at [ADDRESS]. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. You can contact us about anything in this policy at support@harbourdesk.co.uk.

What we collect and why

Email address and name. When you download the free Starter Pack, subscribe to updates, or create an account, we collect your email address (and name, if provided). We use this to deliver what you requested and, where you have signed up for it, to send occasional emails about templates, guides, and our services. Lawful basis: performance of a contract (delivering your download or account) and consent (marketing emails). You can unsubscribe from marketing at any time using the link in any email.

Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. We receive confirmation of payment, the product purchased, and your billing email so we can deliver your purchase and keep required accounting records. Lawful basis: performance of a contract and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).

Documents you upload. If you use the Contract Confidence Check, you upload a contract for review. We treat uploaded documents as confidential. They are used solely to carry out the review you have requested, are accessible only to the people performing the review, and are deleted from our systems within [RETENTION PERIOD, e.g. 30 days] of the review being delivered, unless you ask us to retain them or we are required to keep them by law. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run HarbourDesk — Strpefor payments, G-mail for email delivery, and our website hosting provider — each acting under contracts that restrict what they can do with your data. Where any provider processes data outside the UK, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK adequacy regulations.

How long we keep data

We keep your email details for as long as you have an account or subscription with us, and remove them when you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Purchase records are kept for six years to meet UK tax and accounting requirements. Uploaded contracts are deleted as described above.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to our processing of it, and to receive a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email [YOUR EMAIL]@harbourdesk.co.uk and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you are unhappy with how we handle your data, though we would appreciate the chance to resolve any concern first.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for the site to function, such as keeping you signed in and processing payments. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy we will update the date above and, where the change significantly affects you, notify you by email.
